Bandipora, June 05 (KNO): A fresh wave of Covid-19 gripped northern Bandipora district on Friday after four more persons included two women tested positive for coronavirus, taking the total number of cases to 169 in the district. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a number of test reports were received today that confirmed four positive cases including two women. Three among them are the residents of Bankoot village while one belongs to Magnipora village, they said. Authorities are collecting individual details of travel history and local contacts of each of the fresh cases, a senior official told KNO. "We have also declared ward no 05 and 06 of main town as red zone while the 10 villages around it have been declared buffer zone," an official said. “There is no need to panic, although some precautions need to be taken. People should stay indoors these days till the virus subsides.” The official said that a Covid positive patient is being found in every village these days which is a bit worrisome. “We have sealed the entire market as a precaution which can be helpful for us in coming days and God willing, in next days, the patients here will be cured and discharged," he said. With the fresh four cases, the total number of positive cases in the district has now gone up to 169. One patient has died and 139 patients recovered in the district so far and there are 34 active cases in the district as of now—(KNO)
